Extended Scouting

I hate that it is so difficult to find out how large an army a player has unless you get lucky and find them in their city when you scout.

I propose an extended scout report.

Ok right now, its like there's some sattelite taking a snapshot. I think it would be way cooler and helpful if you could send in a little james bond dude to plunk himself down in a tree and observe coming and going troops for an hour, a day, however long you want him there. It would operate similar to a hunt and be controlled in the actions tab.

The scout would make note any time there was a change in troop lvls in the city.

The Scout Report could look something like this

ok etc etc, you get the point.

I wasn't sure how resources should be handled, but thought one report at the time of leaving might be sufficient.

I think this would be something that should be available to everyone from the beginning, scout skill would still only affect how accurate troop numbers are and if you get a resource/prestige/etc report.

One problem I do see with this is the MASSIVE reports generated if you scouted an active player for a day or so. Maybe it would automatically send the scout home if the report got to a certain length (the guy runs out of papyrus or something idk). I'd appreciate any input especially with the problem of length.

i love this idea maybe it could last 30 changes and 2 day maximum scout

Hey, I like that idea. I thought of something similar where your dudes get caught while scouting sometimes and get killed or sometimes you get told when you have been scouted depending on how high your own scouting lvl is. For example a new player scouting a king would probably get some of his men killed, etc. A lvl 13 player scouting a king might give the king a notification that he has been scouted recently, etc.

the only problem with is that u can only scout two times a day. i know sevral ppl and me aswell who scout alot more then two. also scout lvl also counts to see what ppl have. i guess i am not for this idea it could happen and the base of inproving scouting was good aswell

like a spy? that would allow people to demolish anyone if they knew someone elses army sizes, like i dont know if someone is trying to lure me to their traps or bring out their hunters with a small ish amount of men or if its their whole army, if i knew it was their whole army then i could crush them and then we would have a lot of angry people...im sorry but i dont like it, its to much information, maybe we can help REVISE AND EDIT it with you it could be better... you know how sometimes if your scout isnt a high level the scout of their base only gives an estimate? maybe it could only give estimates or whatever you wanna call them about the troops who come and go...that i think would be at least a little better ;)

As far as the limited scouts at a time problem maybe there could still be an instant scout option. Maybe when you go to tap the scout button it would bring up another dialog. You could then choose a time limit to scout possibly. From 0 (instant) up to 6 hours or something. This could also help eliminate too long of scout reports possibly.

[EDIT] And having an x% to catch the scout/spy might be a good idea too. The percentage could be calculated using both the party's scouting lvls maybe?
