Cav/cats with cavs as main army is a combination that alot of people do try but ultimately give up in the end to conver back to a cav/cats with cats as main or cav/archer army.
This combination is very good in theory, since you cover all basis with cavs to take out your opponent while cats and deal with potential blockers and turrets, as well as able to wipe out low level opponents out cleanly. However this combination suffers from a few short falls.
1. You will have a harder time to farm forts, cavs are not a very efficient army to use to farm forts compare to inf/cats, in order to farm forts with cavs you will need a very large amount and a considerably higher crop consumption.
2. One of the cav's greatest strength in attack is their speed, not just their speed on the battlefield but also their speed on the world map. If you use a main cav army but still brings cats you do not properly utilize that speed. I would persoanlly prefer the inf/cats combo if I have to stand the slow travelling time. As you are more likely to wipe out most opponent cleanly and inf are better to clear trap with than cavs as you lose less in terms of prestige.
A more effective set up that utilise the cav speed more is the cav/archer combo, however this combo is more difficult to command and again it can be countered by a cav/cats army with cats as the main army.
In the end these are all theories, however I would recommend not using cav as your main army before level 15 as you won't be able to maintain a large enough horde of cavs before that to fight effectively.
