Basic Economics

Idea credited to Potato99:

Because of the many inactives, even on the new servers, there is an extreme surplus of resources. Because I can go and farm my higher level inactives, there is no need for me to purchase or even utilize the market because 1) why spend money when I could wait five minutes for a full warehouse and 2) why even sell anything in the market when selling 443000 resources only brings me in like 8000 gold? I am just suggesting that Haypi comes up with a solution for this problem. Inflation is killing the Haypi economy and the citizens are getting upset ;)

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Re: Basic Economics

idea! sounds like a criticism to me

but there is an issue, however once your techs are full youll have loads of money, far too much in fact making it easier to use the market, it swings in roundabouts for everyone. there will always be inactives so there is no solution to this problem
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?

Re: Basic Economics

basic economics? basic economics is, supply and demand
and like you said, you can farm inactives for resources, everybody farms forts for resources which are CONSTANTLY being replenished. Ergo, supply is plenty and never ending.. and as more and more people on the server level up and are able to farm forts their need to buy resources drops off, ergo demand is low
what do u expect haypi do about this? find a way to decrease supply to increase demand from the market?
the market is fine the way it is, sure its a struggle to max tech once prices hit 0.01, but then why wait so long to max tech? especially when you know the market will drop

oh and suggesting someone do something about something is not an idea, its criticism.. suggesting a feasable solution to a percieved problem, is an idea

Re: Basic Economics

Here's an "idea" ;)
Haypi could find users who have not played in a certain amount of time (e.g. 3-5 months) and either delete the account or transfer it to a server(s) they could designate for inactives so people don't get "unhaypi." It would be quite a bit more work but it would be a much more efficient system.

There is no idea in this, it is only stating what everyone all ready knows.

Re: Basic Economics

The only solution is for Haypi to encourage players to use resources at an increased rate. I would suggest revamping the war system as mass war is the only way to fix the market. If players are losing their armies and rebuilding at an increased rate, then the demand problem would be solved.
