Doesn’t need to be an expert to have knowledge of hunts, seeing evidence inf are better in numbers for hunts.

Re: Expert Swifts Haypi Guide :)

i've been using archers to kill cats since i was lv 15. In fact, I only kill cats with archers and I never take losses doing so. It takes a larger crop to do so, but I kill them cleanly unlike with cat vs cat or cav vs cat where you take losses and won't gain any prestige because the person you're hitting has defender in cat vs cat and some know that a cav can't hit a retreating cat and use that to their advantage. :) There's still a counter to archers too, but there's a counter to that counter. If cats move forward into the archers move + total range, the archers will hit. (units all move at the same time, just at differing speeds and unit with highest speed hits first, regardless of player speed) A friend in s5 that I taught a lot of archer stuff to killed 10k cats the other day.... with NO losses, using archers. The person she hit had max speed and range. He was even complaining about it. lol.

Backburner is correct on the infantry vs cav hunts. I did a hunt with 25k cav several times and don't get anywhere close to what I get with 50k inf. infantry only have half a cavalry's speed, but only 20 less overlimit and you can hunt a lot more for the crop value. That overlimit adds up and you only need double to match a cav's speed advantage in hunts where the cost for a cav is 4 times that of an infantry. I have a post on the exact prestige per unit per level if I need to find that and post it here. I can pm it too if anyone wants.

Re: Expert Swifts Haypi Guide :)

Archers are only able to kill cats in a huge horde, basically you need 10 archers per 1 cat ratio to take them out cleaning. If your friend took out 10k cats with archers then he must have kept either a massive archer army or got a lucky double attack.

If you pit cats against archers using equal amount of crop consumption. eg. 10k cats vs. 50k archers, cats will still lose but archers will suffer very heavy losses.

So this tactic is only for people who intend to maintain a crazy high amount of army that's mainly archers. Which I don't believe is that wise as archers are too easily countered with cavs.

Also for archer to wipe out enemy cats cleanly you're basically relying on your enemy cats to have very high speed, not command their army or if they don't know what they're doing. More factors which makes me hesitant to convert majority of my army into archers.

Yes under the right circumstances archers are the best unit to use to take out max speed cats, but that is alot of ifs and there are other ways to take down max speed cats with minimal losses, though none as effective as a huge horde of archers but they will be much more versatile under all circumstances compare to an archer army.

You could use cav. And take like small losses 1/4 of the cats prestige by waiting them and killing any meathshield with archer then wait for cats to be out. With speed at 145 you can sometimes hit max speed cat

Most of the guide is correct. The hunt research is always debated. Anyway, it looks like you took a lot of time to write and type what you did, so thank you. Some of the guide even taught me some things ;)

Re: Expert Swifts Haypi Guide :)

I agree with swift. My cavs hunt a lot better than my inf. I have 9k inf in 2 of my subs.. (equivalent ton2250 cavs) and i ave 4k cavs in snother sub, and 4k csvs regularly yield more than double that of the inf in similar oasis on a regulsr basis.
