alliance ads don't really work that good.. But if you don't want to annoy a lot of ppl make them short, 5 lines or less, and don't use a lot of emoji.. Mention requirements, how many members, rank, and if your alliance chat is active.

to get people to join ur alliance, just talk in wc regularly (become kinda a known player) and then ask people to join

lol theres way to many alliance ads out there

What I do, is make it medium length, not too long. and add at the maximum, three emojis at the end and beginning.

i find personnel letters are more effective as they instigate a conversation between you and the possible alliance member. in my letters i tend to start with the facts and then move onto a personnel request. also end all your letters with your name.
eg

"join <alliance name> ranked <alliance rank>, we could really use a strong member like you"
