*Language for World Chat*

Hey everybody, its me again. In server 10, there is a pretty big issue with language in the World Chat. One expert (not naming who) said that you can talk A different language in Alliance and Private chat, but it is recommended that you speak English. I also asked support10 about this. He/She said, "Ppl better use English as much as they could. I'm hoping all ppl have fun in the game and keep wc in the peace instead of arguing, cursing.... Why can't you help experts out to explain it? I'm hoping you could help experts out as much as you could. They appreciate it for sure. Thanks." So yeah. Can somebody really clarify this issue to all of Haypi? There was a really big uprising in S10. Thanks.

There is always an uprising or issue on S10.... =/ S10 has some of the more "interesting" individuals that hate rules, experts, and those that help experts.

Now in regards to the language issue. This has been brought up many times due to players using different languages to either curse or spam the WC. Due to this incident it is up to the experts disgression how to handle another language if they feel it is being abused

Re: *Language for World Chat*

I always prefer if players use English, mainly for the reasons Rico stated ^ The majority of experts are English speaking and we can't properly moderate chat if we can't understand what's being said. Speaking different languages in alliance chat is really at the discretion of the alliance owner and language in private chat is obviously up to who is chatting.

P.s....this doesn't belong in suggestions...moved to general discussion

Re: *Language for World Chat*

Honestly moderating this really takes common sense. You can tell if someone is legitamitely speaking with another individual in a different language by the back and forth response. Also experts and helpers know the repeat offenders so the trouble makers that have already been warned for previous offenses and try to break the rules in another language will most likely get punished. Remember unfortunelty this game is for all ages and since 100% of all experts speak english but only 25% are bilingual we must stick to the language that can be moderated

Re: *Language for World Chat*

In short, if you CAN speak English then out of respect for players and experts alike, you should.
There are many reasons for this and here are just a couple;

Other players feel left out of the community when they cannot understand what others are saying. Haypi is very strong on community and players being able to interact freely and within the rules with each other.

Experts are not always multilingual. When players go from avoiding the filter, offending others or breaking other rules then switch to another language, it is nigh on impossible to know if they are continuing their bad behavior.
