Guide to Farming Inactives.

Here is a simple guide for noobs out there who don't know that they can take resources and prestige from inactives:

1. Gather a decent army of mostly infantry, cavalry, and a few archers JUST for farming inactives.

2. Look on your map and you will find plenty of lvl 0-2s or maybe even higher to scout but have no troops or very little troops and high amounts of resources.

3. Take your Farming Army and hit the inactive city you want.

4. If there is traps and turrets forward your archers to wipe out the turrets and then forward your infantry to remove the traps. (this should only take a few of your infantry). Now you get the resources and/or prestige from killing their troops and raiding their city.

Any questions on this further, PM me.

Re: Guide to Farming Inactives.

You really dont need anything other than Swords to do this.

1 Cav = 2 Bow = 4 Sword

1 Cav: Attack 175, Overload 100, Speed 300, Prestige 6
2 Bow: Attack 120, Overload 80, Speed 125, Prestige 6
4 Sword: Attack 300, Overload 320, Speed 150, Prestige 4

Cheap, reliable, and strong. You can afford to throw these guys against any and all obstacles and there really is no downside to them.

Say that you set aside 5k Crop p/h for an inactive farming force. You could have...

5k Crop p/h = 1,250 Cav: Attack 218.7k, Overload 125k
5k Crop p/h = 2,500 Bow: Attack 150k, Overload 100k
5k Crop p/h = 5,000 Sword: Attack 375k, Overload 400k

Better Attack than the other, and look at that great Overload total. Second fastest unit in the game, with best combined attack and overload? Don't know about you all, but I really do not see any point in wasting crop and resources in other units if I am looking for an exclusive inactive farming force.

Cav may still have merit since they are twice as fast as Swords, but that's up to the player. Certainly no one should bother wasting anything on Bows. They are just a junk unit.

Cav hold more resources then inf. And I said just a few archers to wipe turrets since they're only lvl one.

Re: Guide to Farming Inactives.

Not very keen with numbers are you? Even when they are spoon fed to you?...

For the same amount of crop, Inf can carry MUCH more than Cav. Please don't argue that. It is the most basic of mathematic computations.

And I understood what you said about archers, I'm just saying you don't need them. They are a waste of crop consumption.

Yes I understood that. >.> Crop ins't an issue. Besides you will gain crop from the raid and capturing a lvl 9 oasis is extremely easy.

Re: Guide to Farming Inactives.

Meta I totally agree with you. I would just add a couple of points. First, inactive farming is one of the great things about having a large cav army for your normal attacking force because they are very fast and act well as inactive farmers as well. For a purely inactive farming army though, meta is right that infantry are better. Second point is that I wouldn't waste time farming low level inactives. Most servers by now have enough higher level inactives that you should just find a few with fully upgraded warehouses to farm. I have several around me and with my cav army I can quickly transfer 350k of each resource to my city in 1 turn and be done with the farming.

Re: Guide to Farming Inactives.

IF there is are no ranged a cav army will hit the first row of traps/turrets first so bringing cav with infantry is very suggested. even if only for that reason. Field length is highest range on field+range tech+300. Archers can be good for clearing the turrets, but meh. I've seen Cavalry also take out two rows of turrets in one hit before as well. On the first turn nontheless.

Re: Guide to Farming Inactives.

After I read this guide I started scouting around my city. I found a lvl 3 with 300,000 + of each resource, all maxed out, a clear sign of inactivity. There was no troops, no traps, no turrets, and best of all, either no cranny or a very low lvl cranny. I brought home almost all of it. I have hit him once more since (it takes him a while to fill up).

Just wanted to come back and give credit where credit is due.
