Skills for a Penetrate Hippo

I'm thinking the first three would be:

Iajutsu
Water Bomb (Every team seems to have Fire/Earth, might heal, and need 1 elemental skill for Ghosts)
Thunderstorm (FU Foresight Pewgs, though a 2 hit of Iajutsu would be roughly the same amount of damage I think, ~120+STAB vs 90x2 both are around 180 power equivalent).

Then what to put in the last spot (and maybe Thunderstorm too)...

Maybe Lethal Powder+1 to outlast, possibly with Soak+Photo
Execution/Absolute Zero and hope to get lucky if it will take a few turns to kill anyway
Fog to annoy PoDers even though I go last do to my speed
Maybe a Foresight of my own?
Or Wind Blast to remove the Foresighter or monster it is protecting?

Any suggestions excluding PoD since there is a big ole lineup of monsters who need it too.

Re: Skills for a Penetrate Hippo

It all depends on your servers trends.
If there are a lot of Foresight combo's, Wind Blast might be a smart idea.
However, the Server I'm in is overrun by Lightning elemented monsters, so I would personally go with Boulder.
If you're in a Server with heavy hitters, Soak/Photosynthesis would definitely be a wise decision.
Finally back on track and ready to help you guys :D!

Re: Skills for a Penetrate Hippo

My server's high level PvP are full of OELs that would probably do over 50% damage a turn to a Hippo or the high end no OEL guys who usually have a Taunt+Foresight protector or Wafflefox who actually has an interesting team.

I'm aiming to compete with the Taunt/Foresight guys.

If you're planning to compete against the Taunts, you pretty much answered your own question, go for Wind Blast !

Re: Skills for a Penetrate Hippo

Should I bother with two 90 power Elemental moves? Since 90 power Elemental move with elemental advamtage will be quite close in damage to a two hit from Iajutsu with its higher damage and Stab?

Since I am keeping an elemental move for Ghosts would it make more sense to switch Water Bombs to Mind Bending?

I am new to this whole Physical monster thing and Flights don't seem to last long on my server/only be tech II Frenzy when I see them?

Re: Skills for a Penetrate Hippo

im hippo penetrate user and u cant put lethal powder on normal monster. its only for grass. i like Tsurugi built it seems effective for killing verte with pressure. use only 1 elemental attack because u use it only for the one that has that weakness or to hit ghost. but u cant put mind bending on hippo since hippo has low matk.

my rec:
curse
laijutsu
pod
water bombs/boulder
