How to counter Pewgway taunt/Ress-pod-Chimera

Iv stumbed across a dead end today.

Searching for PvP matches today, i stumbled across a new player in the server, that came with pewgway taunt/pod ress chimera combo.
Followed by hippo and levi.

I tried 2 games vs him and lost both, first was with taunt pewgway and neon, and lethat powder+1 pattalfy + scythe ,which i just got out-lasted by him.

And second i tried to open with windblast igy and scythe.
i did hit him with MB but that didnt change the outcomes.

STS pod ress chimera just destroys everything in 1 shot, and the ress talent just keeps it there longer for me to deal with.
Is there anyway way to beat/outlast this combo with mere epic monsters or its hopeless?

Something with penetrate I believe would stop him from res. but I am at a lss otherwise, I would like to hear some others ideas now as well.

Chim has low mdef compared to it's def. I've seen adapt pod neons with lightning strike take him out in two hits with ease. The trick is surviving 3 turns to pod and then get off two lightning strikes. Try using a taunt combo with that neon.

Better yet, a verte with penetrate will not only allow you to cut through taunt but also res. A nicely upgraded punishment should ohko chimera on the first turn.

I used Taunt pewgway Neon vs him.

Light strike deals 50% hp dmg to him.

He used elec storm after he poded, so he also kills me neon in 2 strikes.
He outlasted him because he had ress.

I cant , not im goign to spend 1.5k gold to get a 2nd verta.

So if u can please offer a creative solution without feeding this haypi more P2W gold, il be very thankfull.

Invalidate neon to keep him from pod. and if your lucky he will cast it before noticeing invalidate. you could also try starting with scythe/ inval Neon using earthquake and lightning strike.

I get where you're coming from, I don't pay to win either. Just seems like most people here have verte these days. Only other think I can think of is to resort to cheap strategies, like martyr with ghost partner. First turn bring out scythe and taunt pewg, to protect just in case he decides to water torrent scythe, use pod with scythe and whatever you want with pewg. Second turn use martyr with scythe and switch to meniss or other ghost. If this doesn't work, just try to avoid him as much as possible until you get build a team to beat him. There's people on every server who who everyone just avoids because no one can beat them.

Yeah, but then again, on the 2nd turn he will use STS, ans since he goes first and got ress, my neon will probably get 1 shoted and scythe will get a torrent.

I thought about POD scythe, but then the ress talent from chimera will allow him to respond and finish my ress scythe off.

ending with 1hp pod chimera that will take another monster at least in 1 shot before dying, in the best circumstances.

Pewg should die from martyr so any smack or water jets can finish chim before he can ohko another monster.

Hihihi since i have chimera and im too proud about it ..i think most ppl who killed my chim had martyrdom scythes and vertedeath..chimera has low mdef so try to use punishment along side with penetrate or have one pewg and and exploding scythe use foresight on pewg and explode.u can also try massive boulder on penetrate flight.or 2 resu scythes with upgraded earthquakes should do the job.

Another way to beat the resurrect chim..use resurect scythe and resurrect pewg..pod first turn. Explode second turn and use water jets on the chim..this will work if the opponent pewg didnt use foresight..nice topic i used to train an underdog chim but now im going to train resurrect chim
