Defense

What is defense (the defense each troop have, not defending against players), and how does it helps you in battle? Does it only work while defending, or when you are attacking to?

In short: How does defense work?

Re: Defense

Add: Does it increase each troop, like life and load, or does it remain one number, like speed and range?

Re: Defense

As far as I know, defense is kind of how much damage your troops block. This works in all battles, regardless of who's attacking. It increases based on your attributes(attack, defense, speed, fortune), so, someone with 100+120 defense will have fewer troops killed in battle than a guy with 0+120 defense in a same battle.

The first part I am unsure on. The other 2 parts are, to my knowledge, correct. For those reading, feel free to correct me. :D

Re: Defense

Yes, defense, like attack, affects each individual unit you build.

Defense is in play ANY time a unit is dealt damage. The exact way it works is a mystery but it seems to add to the life value (hit points) of every single troop.

You can get a fair estimation of a battles outcome given you know your enemy's attack/defense by adding the defense to life to find how much damage they can withstand before dying.

Obviously defense tends to be more important for an inf or a cav, as they are always taking damage. Cats and archers who aren't hit often don't need it as much as fortune or attack. It does benefit all units however, when it comes into play.
