Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

Hmmm I find weather skill and PoD combination a bit delayed.. I'd rather have them casted separately..

You can have Scythe w/ Resu + Sandstorm in combo w/ Behemoth w/ Armor 3 or Sand Therapy 1 + PoD.. Also put in some Fire Types like Draco w/ Adapt + Celestial Prayer or Ignightmare w/ Intimidate + Celestial Prayer.. Followed by another Fire Type or Grass Type..

Swift, I agree with you, but what about the Chunky with POD and blizzard. Chunky would lose two turns before attacking. I think if one is going to put POD on Behemoth or Chunky, it would be better not to have the weather casting move. That would also free up a space for a counter move such as cunning or mind-bending for Chunky or iajitsu or frenzied attack for Behemoth.

Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

Actually yes, it had me thinking on my previous suggestion as well.. But i think i'd still try it for the following reasons..

1. Ice is only weak against Fire Types
2. Though dodge maybe unreliable, Blizzard would still deal 16% HP damage on the Fire-Types
3. The current trend of mostly Water-Electric combos are a lot prevalent than Fire-Grass combos

If the trial would be unsuccessful, I'd opt for Chunky combos :)

Swift, definitely try it and let me know how it works for you in the ladder. I think the Chunky POD-blizzard-cunning-chill move set could be very interesting.

Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

I actually had my whole team (Neon, Purrfection, Ignightmare, Smiter - Lined up in this order) wiped out on Ladder by one single Ignightmare that casted PoD, Celestial Prayer, and then 4 x Super Fire Bomb. It was OHKO all the way.

I would say that if you want to use PoD on a monster that also utilizes a weather-changing move on Ladder, it would be preferable for that monster to have a higher speed than its opponent.

Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

Garouchi, I agree. My concern is that a Chunky that uses POD-blizzard-cunning in that order will be attacked/hit 3 times before landing a hit with cunning. Even if Chunky were to use POD-blizzard-chill, given Chunky's slow speed (under 100 before casting POD), Chunky may still be attacked/hit 3 times before he attacks.

Regarding the POD Ignightmare you faced, did it have intimidate as its ability?

Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

As among Rhor, Neon, and Ignightmare, I think my order of preference for POD would be as follows:

1. Rhor - it is the fastest among the three with speed of about 155 and has only a marginally weaker attack versus Neon (around 150 versus 155-156). Although it has a weak defense and low HP, POD should allow it to endure the first hit and possibly the second hit except against POD earth types.

2. Neon (if it has adaptability) - it has the highest attack among the three at around 155-156, and with adaptability it should be able to one hit KO most monsters after casting POD and certainly so when it is raining. Although it is the slowest of the three, I think the very high attack makes up for its slower speed.

3. Ignightmare (if it has intimidate) - it is marginally slower than Rhor and will likely cast POD before all monsters except for Rhor and possibly Felicity depending upon whether the S Felicity has 150 or 151 speed. It's attack is the weakest among the three, but if it casts celestial prayer and uses super fire bomb, it will be quite formidable. Its intimidate ability should be able to allow it to endure the first hit and possibly the second hit, except against a POD Felicity or Vertedeath.

These are just assumptions on my part based upon stats, so if anyone knows differently from past experience, please feel free to share.

Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

Is Rhor F3 stronger than Neon Adapt?

Problem with Ignightmare is it joins the4 battle first so intimidate gets casted on no one.

A little correction, felicity cant learn POD

Ignight intimidate only procs once that is when the first time ignight enter the battle field

POD effective on what monster, especially when you decide to put it on colour elemental type, might be different for each server, since colour elemental type have an exposed weakness against another element type.

POD on flight sounds 'ancient' but is good since he dont have any exposed weakness elemental wise, and have good defence.

Other than that, like 3 mentioned above is quite good choice for POD but first you got to look around, what monster mostly used on top 10 on your server? If many use rocks type, then ignight, rhor and neon is extremely weak against them.

Good luck guys.

Re: PoD's Monster Collection & Explaination

POD should only be allowed to be taught to ghost monsters. Allowing monsters that already know adaptability to learn POD is just retarded over powered.
