Article entry: "Haypi's Biggest Secret"

Who hasn't wished that they knew what troops to hunt for how long? Who hasn't wondered if they should harvest their troops or leave them out longer, or if they should split there troops or keep them together? How many times have you heard Ha_a's ask how long to hunt? Every body wants to know the secret of ...* dramatic music plays in background*... the Hunting Equation.

The Hunting Equation has purposely been kept a secret by Haypi developers. Player JBrownZero, an expert on s62, says, "No one knows the exact hunting equation, I tried to get it from support but they say [it] is a secret" But why all the secrecy? Many other equations are not secrets. For example, the prestige equation for battles prestige=A-R*B is even in the Haypi tutorial! So why is it different for hunting? I think it has to do with the possible effects of public knowledge of the equation. Hunting is extremely useful-I mean who doesn't want to get free stuff? If hunting could be controlled, it could be very powerful. In my opinion, Haypi developers were smart not to let it be known and to make us keep guessing, no matter how irritating it may seem.

So what DO we know? From what I have gathered, I believe the equation includes speed, fortune, number of troops, type of troops, and time hunting. Besides that... we know nothing. How these factors efect the results is one of Haypi's biggest mysteries.

Happy hunting,
banonogon

PS Although I have not confirmed it, I have heard that splitting your troops into two hunting groups, one of which has infantry and calvary and the other of which has archers and catapults is a good idea.

Re: Article entry: "Haypi's Biggest Secret"

The general Hunting things is that I say is:...

1:Hunt very long!! Close to 10 days (as that is max) to get ur hunt succesful

2: HUNT WITH ALL UR TROOPS!! And if you can, invest in a lvl 10 ring, they can help you when your just starting

3: patience! Patience! I cant stress this enough! You might get great hunts in a row, but other times, nothing! Just have patience!

4: hunt atleast 2 pages away...atleast thts wat i do.

But the equation i came up with is.... ifantry/how long- other troop(s) x oasis's stand still
blah blah blah...heard it all before....i know im awsome, please dont bug me with fan mail.

False, all you need is 8-12 hours. I have run tests (5 hunts with the exact same amount of troops) and all the hunts that were >10 hours were exactly the same (and that included hunts varying from 10 hours to 100 hours).

False, hunting with cats just slows your other troops down and gives you reduced hunts. For the ring, all fortune does is give a better chance of receiving an item rather than money.

If you simply hunt in an oasis that hasn't been hunted in recently, you will always get something.

SirObvious wrote:4: hunt atleast 2 pages away...atleast thts wat i do.
The distance away really has no significance, just the fact that nobody has hunted recently in the oasis you choose.
