Oasis Strategy Guide (Haypi Article Competition)
Hello, this is my Oasis Guide I wrote for my alliances. All is original except of course the numbers which are the regular guidelines.
Hello Crusader's and Templar's
I recently claimed some lv9 oasises and was asked how so I decided to write a little guide. Please note this is my first time playing the game so my methods may not be the best but 9 times out of 10 you will encounter 0 losses doing it this way.
So first of all I never use any other unit but catapults. I did start off on lower level oasis using a mix but you usually find you don\\'t need them. And secondly you need to level your tech for shooting marching and attack gradually. I can\\'t tell you the specific level per oasis but when I took lv9 oasis all 3 were tech lv5. You can upgrade these by paying money in the tech centre building.
So starting the guide then.. below is a chart telling you how many catapults you need per level of oasis.. these are minimum numbers and its always safer to take maybe 10% more if you are not confident
1-5
2-10
3-25
4-50
5-75
6-100
7-200
8-400
9-500
Attacking:
Once you have chosen your target oasis your troops will set off and you can track their progress on the actions screen from your city.
It will have a countdown saying "to attack" or "hidden attack" (as far as I know hidden attack doesn\\'t affect oasis battles). Once they arrive the button will say "command" click this to enter the battle screen.
Across the top is your enemies units and numbers and accross the bottom are yours.
Npc (non player character) opponents do not have tactics and all of their units just advance straight toward you and there is a certain order each unit comes into range of you catapult.
This is a universal guide so I will act as if the enemy has catapults but for the first few levels they wont.
The first thing you need to do is stop your units advancing. If you were brave enough you\\'ll just have catapults so just click the catapult box click "wait" and then click "send command" if you did this correctly there should be a pause sign next to your catapults in the box, this means they will not advance but they will still attack things in range.
If you were not brave enough and have more units wait your units in this order; horses - swords - archers - catapults. As some units go faster than others and therefore are in range of the enemy quicker.
If you did not manage to wait all your troops don\\'t panic. Open their screens in turn 2 and click "backwards" and send command.. a down arrow will then appear and low and behold they will travel back.
Now with your troops waiting this is how to play each turn:
Turn1 - don\\'t change anything, your catapults will automatically kill the enemy horses.
Turn2- if there are any horses left click your catapults then on the attack screen target the horse and click send command. If the horses are dead click the swords.
Turn3- the archers will now be in range, the horses SHOULD be dead by turn3, don\\'t worry if there are swords they will not hurt you so target the archers.
Turn4- all archers should be dead, if not finish them off. In turn4 you will auto target the swords if the archers are dead but I like to click them anyway just to make sure. In lower level oasis this should finish off the swords but if it doesn\\'t don\\'t worry.
Turn5- up until now you should have been waiting (or going backwards) now you need to change direction to forwards and change target to catapults. (Remember there are no enemy catapults in low level oasis) catapults should only take 1 turn to kill.
In the lower levels your battles should now be ended.
Turn6- in higher level oasis there will still be swords left. Simply click backwards and target them and send command and they shouldn\\'t hurt you. They have a very short range.
All battles should be over by this point. Except for lv8 (sometimes) and lv9. If you are using the correct ammount of catapults the swords will never reach you but on a rare ocassion they will reach you on the last turn but this is nothing to worry about.. on lv9 800 swords reached my 525 catapults and they only killed 17 catapults total. That too, is the only loss I have encountered using this technique.
Below is the resources per hour you get from each oasis. Please remember oasis drop 1 level per 24 hours of ownership so you must find others while they recharge.
Starting at level one: 100 / 200 / 350 /
550 / 850 / 1250 / 1900 / 2700 / 3700
and the rare level 10 oasis is 5000 per
hour
Forts and cities:
As this is not a forts or cities guides I will not say too much but I just wanted to add that the technique is very similar. The difference is you need to bring swords with you. Make them wait at the start. Kill all the moving units just like oasis. Then to kill the towers move your catapults forward till the towers disappear then wait (some people prefer using archers for this).. then to destroy the traps make your swords go forward and they will clear them (this sacrifices some of them but its the cheapest way to do it)
Thankyou for reading this.. my first guide and I hope it helps you on your crusade.
