Lokii Prologue #2

The librarian was a vulture over my head. I was near his precious bookcase, but I could be here, my dad owned the library. It was the dust on the shelf that caught my attention. There wasn’t any in front of this one book. It was old, bound in dark leather, like boots that are worn too long. When I pulled the book from the shelf I heard a click. It was so soft I almost missed it. Leaning on the bookcase, I opened the book and faced a language I could barely read. The words were the same, they just looked, old and…different. I read great tales of swashbuckling pirates, shrewd traders, fast ships, deep diving subs, and deadly battles. One thing came up again and again, the eight treasures of the deep and traveling to the future. Smirking, I wondered what it was like to live back in those long lost days of freedom and adventure. I was starting to yearn for the open sea, the smell of the salt, and the taste of the brine. I sat down in front of the case and found what caused the click. On the bottom shelf was a small opening. I reached my hand in and poof I was gone in a flash of light. When I woke, I was here in bustling Port King. In one hand I had a deed to a ship-n-sub and the other, a sword. What do I do now?
