Haypi prologue #2

Drip.... Drip.... Drip.... You listen to the sound of muddy water slowly dripping from the rotting ceiling to the cold and dirty floor. Dressed in filthy rags, you wonder why these things happened to you. You didn't even steal the gold, your friend did. And then when he came over to your house, his face filled with fear, you let him in and gave him a place to stay, because that's what a friend would do to his buddy... Buddies for life, since the time you both could crawl. But not anymore. He deemed that his life was greater than yours, hiding the gold in your house and blaming it all on you. Despair, remorse, hate, depression, anguish... All these emotions batter your mind, constantly reminding you of the heartbreak he caused you. Your wife and kids are gone, sold to some city for slave labor. The execution... Tomorrow... You wonder how this happened. BANG! The door is thrown open! The king walks in, dressed in royal robes of the deepest purple. He explains how he needs the 8 ancient runics lost at sea, and he wants to send you to find them. The king states that he can bring back your family if you complete his wish. Your heart, which a few minutes before was dark and filled with dread, is lifted up ever so slightly, like a ball of light raising you up and allowing you to do incredible things. This ball of light is small, because you understand that you may not succeed. But you must try! Filled with excitement and adrenaline, you embark on your quest, with only a small ship and creaky submarine, not knowing the dangers and adventures that lie ahead.
