Illustrator makes perfectly smooth lines, so skill + illustrator is able to achieve this
Btw, the font in a logo can make it or break it. My criticism is change the font! Not the big logo font, the smaller black stuff.

@ Logis: Thank you too... To answer your question, I first sketched the logo out on paper including the guy. I then scanned it in, and cleaned up the trace lines in photoshop, and then shifted it over to illustrator for a "smooth" look (AKA vector format).

It may be more appropriate with an i-device than a laptop, but it's still amazing!
