Haypi prologue

The waves of the ocean tides rolled over the surface of the deep. The dark water called to Jonah. He was young but strong. His hair flicked gently in the wind as the boat rose and fell with the waves. From high in the crows nest he look out over the vast sea, and though it appeared void, Jonah knew that he was far from alone. The true beauty of these untamed waters was held deep within it's depths. Jonah had grown up on ships like this one, scrubbing decks, tying knots, and fighting for his very existence. The sea had always been his home. He had felt the call of the wild waters, of discovering the secrets hidden for untold years within her sands. He now had a ship of his own and a small submarine to search the ocean floor. His eyes pulled tight scanning the surface of the water. Somewhere underneath, somewhere deep below he would make his fortune, he would find his destiny. He had heard tales of lost treasures and forgotten relics that had been swallowed by the unforgiving sea. He had listened to the sailors sing songs of adventures and misfortunes, of life and death. How could something of such inspiring grandeur be so harsh and unyielding in it's lust for taking life. Beauty and danger, freedom and insecurity. He had questions, and he knew out there he would find the answers. In his quest he hoped to find the key to his future, a destiny he was certain was his. Jonah quickly descended the mast of the ship jumping the last ten feet to the deck in excitement. "Release the lines," he called to the deckhands as he crossed the plank to the sub. Within moments he was inside, the hatch closed, and he began his descent into the depths of the living water. Life teamed around him. Schools of fish darted this way and that. While predators drifted effortlessly through the water. Jonah's heart raced with anticipation. He had been searching tirelessly for weeks and could feel the treasure was close. "Ping, ping," the sonar echoed in the small space. The ocean floor was near, and there was something hidden just beneath. Adrenaline surged through his veins, he could not contain his hopes. Was this one of the treasures of legend, was this what he had been searching for? Time would tell and he would have his own tales to tell.
