Coins

There are a TON of things in the game that you can spend coins on to make life easier.

The problem I see right now is that if you don't purchase coins, the game will not be very fun for the those players since the people with coins will be able to walk all over them and take all the fun out of the game for them.
There needs to be a better balance here that keeps the game fun and playable for people who don't use coins.

I realize that's how the game becomes profitable, but there are many people who just don't buy coins, and without them, the population of the game will suffer since they will just give up on playing all together when they realize they can't compete with someone who has coins. While you don't make a profit on someone who doesn't buy coins, you still want those players.

In regular Haypi kingdom, the balance wasn't bad. A non-coiner could still compete with a person using coins if they had a few days to build. This game puts the person with coins at a much higher advantage.

My suggestions are as follows.
Allow people to earn coins in the game through either daily activities or level upgrades, or both. (More than 5 coins...) Maybe a 20 coin daily task of some sort?

Adjust the amount of coins needed on some tasks. On the speedups there is a 5 hour speedup for 10 coins, or a 50 coin instant finish. There needs to be something in the middle there. Maybe a 20 coin 12 hour and a 30 coin 24 hour?

More points per 10 coin donation in the alliance. Maybe 500 points per 1 coin instead. Also, allow single coin donations.
Since we can't see the IAP yet, that needs to be something inline with the amount of coins this game consumes. This game has a LOT more that you can spend coins on than the original HK and the coins don't seem to go as far. The IAP coin purchases need to offer more coins than HK did.

Make sure that all the different kinds of speedup and warp cards, etc,, are in the daily lotto as well as another way to gain a few coins in addition to a daily task that allows you to earn coins.

Remove the coin requirement for War refuse. Maybe make it a Silver requirement so people that don't buy coins can still protect their buildings while they sleep and work.

Remove the coin requirement for upgrading your bags. There are a TON of items that go in your bags in this game. You run out of space fast. Charging coins for this doesn't make sense. Maybe make it a task as you level to gain bigger bags. Maybe every time you gain a new title, you get another page in your bags?

I'm sure there are more tweaks needed. But I just wanted to start off the conversation with this if anyone else wants to chime in on this topic.

My turn to chime:

Lots of other games utilize the dual currency method, as does this game: silver (normal) and gold (supreme) currencies. Currently in the shop you can purchase one thousand silver coins for the price of one gold coin. What I think should be added in this game, which is present in a lot of other games, is the ability to purchase the supreme currency with the normal currency--one thousand silver coins for one gold coin.
I think this will make it easier to achieve gold coins as well as all the above ideas by Chicagoguy.

    1000 silver coins for 1 gold coin would be a bit easy. I would bump that up to 10000 silver coins. This would cause less players to buy and haypi won't be happy about that lol

Not sure about that.. Maybe.

There are a couple ways to look at it.

Even though they are giving us 150 free coins a day for the Beta, I have found that those just don't last long, and if this were the final version of the game, I'm sure there would still be plenty of people needing additional coins to finish builds, warp around, etc... I think that, even if you do give people a way to buy coins using in-game currency, they will still have needs to buy more if they are building or....

On the other hand, if people using the coins don't see them worth buying, they also won't buy them. Meaning, if they buy a $20 coin package, and it's gone with 2 building speedups, that's not a very good value.

If the non-coin people can't compete or protect themselves against people using coins, that will also cause people to stop playing the game and we will run into dead servers, and I'm sure they sell fewer coins to people on dead servers because there is no reason to coin anything if there is nobody around to play with.

My whole point was that there needs to be a better balance and the coins need to have good value as well as a good way to earn them in the game.
Plenty of people racing to the top will still buy plenty of coins from the AIP even if they offer some for free.

I agree with most of this but the suggestion to be able to buy war refuse with silver is ridiculous. War refuse kills a game. War refuse should only be bought with coins and I think there should be a cool down after you buy one. Also, trading silver for gold is a bad idea as well. There are silver mines all over. It would be too easy to get gold.

Buying coins:
Hopefully the coin prices are different than they are in HK.
HK prices:
$10 for 120 coins would not last long AT ALL. Things do cost too much coins if that's the deal that happens.
$100 for 1600 coins would also be a rip off. I think the coins should be doubled for the price you spend just Bc this game uses so much more coins.

Daily Gift coins:
More than 5 should be awarded at dg, 20 would be nice as it's only once a week, if you log on each day.

Unless they offer better resource protection, I think buying WR with silver might be a good plan.

The lack of protection from plundering and attacks on resources means that if someone is trying to farm for a large upgrades, they risk losing it all.

I don't think I want to spend 20 coins every time I want to save up resources to upgrade a crop.

However,,,, if better protection was provided to keep the strong players from making the game unplayable for the smaller players, I would agree that WR should be coins as well.
