Buying a hero a beer

It says it increases their attributes, but can it also show exactly what it's upgrading?

Maybe show Before and After of hero before and after you buy your hero a beer in the tavern.

I've bought a few drinks, and I'm not noticing any difference in the performance of the heros yet.
