Upgrading skills - Is it worth while?

TBH, i'm not even sure if this is possible yet or if i'm just asking about a feature that hasnt been added yet - I just got myself a Bronze Meniss, which now allows me to chose the Upgrading skills options (directly on skills, not the statis). I havent much looked into it yet, nor have I the money or resource to try it out. I'm just wondering - is upgrading really worth while, or does it get worth while after a certain amount of upgrades?
Anyone have any articles at hand where you can read about the basics of it? I'm not sure ive seen anything about it yet...

There aren't really articles about it... you upgrade a skill, it adds 5 more power, so eventually +6 adds a cumulative 30 power.

For example, a felicity could learn mind bending, make it bronze, then upgrade mb once, it will now have 95 power.

+2=100 power
+3=105 p
+4=110 p
+5=115 p
+6=120 p

So you could have a 120 power mb that doesn't confuse you like psychic thrust. Or you could just upgrade psychic thrust to 150. Insane damage with MF-3.
