Switching from Private chat to general

When I am in private chat and want to switch back to general chat, I have to scroll up the general chat log to get to the most current chats. I guess its not really a bug but is annoying.

Also when you go into private chat to respond to someone, If you dont click their name, you could respond to whomever. Why cant it respond to the last PC person if left blank?
