Why can't I encounter my friend in pvp?

My friend and I both opened a room and clicked start at the same time.

But we are still not encountering each other,


He encountered bots, while leaving me hanging,

Isn't the system supposed to choose real players before using a bot as opponents?

Depends. If you're PvP score is too high compared to his, and since he still gets bots it probably is, then the system prioritizes bots the other player. And if I remember correctly, you don't encounter bots anymore and that your rating is above 2000. All the more reason to believe your PvP score is too high compared to your friends.
The system probably does this because they want to match with skill level; weaker players can fight other weaker players and bots but not players that are much too strong.

There are probably three people in our server who has score that matches mine...
They are in Asia, and east coast....what are the chances that we play at the same time..l

Even right now, I see there are seven people playing pvp, and I can't fight any of them,,,that's crazy....
