EXP Card - 3 plus Evolving

So , i used this EXP Card - 3 on my level 1 Jack thus increasing it level to 17 which is also the level that it would evolve into Smack which i haven't got a Record of in the Encyclopedia(Not Caught), after Evolving it would simply mean i would get the record of it and an indication of it being caught , but it's still not.

send it to battle,the hard train in battle will let him be recorded
