Water Torrent Question

I am not sure the description of water torrent as it says it is a magical attack.

When it is in the ladder, My S turtle can only give appox 35% of S Pod-casted Scythe's total HP, while poison leaves by S Smiter can damage up to 50% of the same Scythe.

What wrong with it?

S Turtle magical atk: 115
Water torrent: 120
Total: 235

S Smitter magical atk: 145
Poison leaves: 90
Total 235

S Scythe Def: 140
S Scythe Mdef: 110

Please help!

Moreover, adv skill with condition such as water torrent, super thunder and solar smite should not be cast unless monster's HP has reached below 30% As far as I see them battlingin the ladder, my S turtle is often beated by Scythe and Ignightmare, even thou my turtle has an element advantage. my turtle keeps using water torrent with low damage then get stunned. How poor he is T.T

PS. my turtle used to have a water jet skill and keep winning them, but now I replace it with the water torrent and keep losing them. What an adv skill?

Advance Skills w/ 120 power all comes w/ de-buffs as a way to limit their strength (regardless if it hits or not):

Water Torrent - Stun
Solar Smite - Stun
Psychic Thrust - Confuse
Super Thunderstorm - Stun
Super Firebomb - ATK stat reduction
Massive Boulder - DEF stat reduction
Aurora Borealis - MDEF stat reduction

Having said that the de-buff of some skills can be negated when cast during specific weather conditions, this is aside from the usual buffs you get from the weather skills:

Blizzard - Eliminates de-buff on Water Torrent & Aurora Borealis
Sandstorm - Eliminates de-buff on Massive Boulder & Super Firebomb
Celestial Prayer - Eliminates de-buff on Super Firebomb & Solar Smite
Rain Prayer - Eliminates de-buff on Water Torrent & Super Thunderstorm

In terms of ladder performance, the AI chooses the strongest skill in your monster's arsenal most of the time.. And if Water Torrent is equipped it would most likely be used..

With regards to your Pewgway getting beat-up by Ignightmare & Scythe, it might be because of the weather conditions:

Sandstorm - Reduces accuracy of all monsters that are not Fire & Earth
Celestial Prayer - Increases skills of Fire & Grass Type monsters by 50% while reducing all Water & Ice skills by 50% (regardless of monster type)

In terms of the damage dealt to Scythe, PoD (Power of Darkness) increases all monster stat, thereby reducing any damage dealt to those monsters (e.g. 50% on all stat?).. Factoring the said percentage increase, your skills will definitely deal lower damage because of the heightened stats.. Aside from the fact that if you're Water Torrent has been cast while Celestial Prayer is on..

For Smiter, it has a talent called Force 2 w/c increases the monster's ATK stat.. Again the percentage of stat is not disclosed by HM.. Given this and if Poison Leaves is cast while Celestial Prayer is on, it shall deliver much more devastating damage to Scythe than to your Pewgway..

Quite clear but not all, still not sure with whether Water Torrent is a magical skill or not...

Re: Water Torrent Question

Based from the book details in my bag.. it's Magical Attack, therefore Pewgway's MATK shall be used on damage generation and Scythe's MDEF on damage reduction..

Re: Water Torrent Question

Water Torrent is Magical, power 120, Hit 90% and 3/3 pp. Stuns yourself if not raining or a blizzard.

i found in ladder about 1/2 of the time my pegway will use Rain prayer first then torrent. I think it depends on what the opponent is. When he doesn't cast RP he uses Torrent first and I usually get beat for that attempt.

Re: Water Torrent Question

I have done the experiment again today!!

In the ladder, my turtle faced Scythe. (Both are the first monster in the line)

First round:
Scythe casted POD
Turtle casted Water torrent and did less than 25% of the full Scythe's HP and then got stunned.

Second round:
Scythe casted Massive Boulder, then its DEF decreased
Turtle was still stunning and did no damage.

Third round:
Scythe casted the second Massive Boulder, then its DEF decreased again
Turtle then casted Water Torrent and did more than 50% of the full HP without a critical hit and then gets stunned.

Why water torrent did more damage without a critical hit?
Why the magical skill did more damage after Scythe's DEF decreased?
I think now the Water Torrent skill should be reviewed whether it is a magical skill or not!!

Anyone please help me!!!

Re: Water Torrent Question

Common you could have changed the description.
Why isn't it working good as a magical skill?
It would be perfect for Cygness
