We'll get good Fïrę monsters ! An Ignightmare would be decent ! Any monster with superfirebomb would do the job

In Veteran maps, you can still change the weather.
It costs a turn, but if you don't want to train a Fire / Plant monster, I'd say this is your best shot.

Do you have felicity or Hypnoe? Use them. What about your Blaze? he should be close to S rank by this point in the game. if your fighting plant types, sunshine with fire monsters, you should be OHKO them or close to it. If your fighting a mix of plants and the psychics, you need a felicty or bring your own plant type

One of the best combos is a water monster and ice monster for vet maps. Start with the water monster and have them use Rain Prayer. Rain prayer not only boosts the power of water moves, but it halves the damage from grass and fire moves. If the opponent is fire or rock, have your water monster defeat them. If the opponent is grass, immediately switch to your ice monster. Grass monsters will barely be able to touch an ice monster in rain (they'll only be doing 1/4th of normal damage).

Since Ice monsters are generally MATK based, they are also pretty good against rock. Switch out if your ice monster is faced with a fire opponent.

Pegway with Rain Prayer is a really good first monster, as the high defense will make sure it survives the first hit from a grass opponent.
