Inverse Clawpard

Hi guys!

I am planning to give my clawpard the following moves:

Talent: Inverse
Skills: AB, Mind Bending, Punishment, Blizzard

AB is straightforward,

Mind Bending is used to counter ghost and also fire mobs,

Punishment is used to counter PoD users, as clawpard cannot use PoD because of inverse,

Blizzard, according to the old posts, seems that even with blizzard, casting AB can still get buff mdef, but I am not sure about this

Please feel free to give any suggestions! :)

It's quite a straightforward build, with Punishment as exception.

Like you said, Aurora Borealis is pretty straight forward, and it will indeed still give you an MDEF buff even when Blizzard is up.

Mind-Bending is a decent choice as well, seeing how both Cerberus and Sphierx have lower MDEF than DEF, it will deal greater damage. Besides that, the alternatives are pretty much rubbish !

Blizzard is pretty basic as well, every Ice type would do good with Blizzard in its set-up.

Now on to Punishment, I'm not a big fan of it myself, as you'll be more of a defensive monster rather than offensive, something Clawpard can't really use.
However, if you are willing to take the risk that your opponent will cast a lot of buffs, it will definitely be a neat helping hand.

Wow such a quick reply!

Then can you suggest a skill to replace punishment?

Another AB? Or cunning?

I add punishment because opponents can still use PoD but clawpard can't, which will make it in a great disadvantage

But I am worried that before Clawpard use punishment against PoD users, it may be ohko by opponent already...

Hope blizzard can help dodging in this case

Thx a lot anyway

Well, it will always be a gamble, but seeing how you only have 3 turns that support your STAB right now (Aurora Borealis), it might be worth considering getting another Aurora Borealis.
You don't have to worry about not having weather, as you'll get the MDEF increase anyway.

Again another quick reply

Thx a lot and I will go for
AB, AB, MB, Blizzard

Another question,
then how to utilize punishment the most?
should be put on defensive or offensive mobs?

I know your levi have used punishment+5, how is it?

I have created two inverse Clawpards, and both are impressive in ladder and pvp. Both are built different.

1st Clawpard
x2 AB+3
Chill+3
Curse (used for maps)

2nd Clawpard
AB+5
Chill+3
Cunning+2 (still upgrading)
Polish

As you might have noticed neither use blizzard and I dont plan on teaching them for two reasons, Weather atk talents and getting the first attack in. Weather boosts will make it difficult on claw and your next monster, and claw not having blizzard will almost always ensure you deal damage during the first turn.
Claw will kill most monsters with ease, shoot sometimes I can kill 3 legends in ladder just with claw.

Thx for your builds!

For the first clawpard, if you are going for pure ice, i would go for the 3rd AB, but I think it is too much. 9, or even 11 ice attack moves will never be used more than 5.
For curse, i would put it on mobs that can heal themselves, otw clawpard have to eat jellies again and again, and also put itself at risk during battle

For the second one, polish will never work on inverse clawpard, just lowering its matk
For cunning, I am just afraid that the guananteed casting last will be a bit dangerous. But I am not sure about this, how is it working according to your own experience?

Again thx for your suggestions and no offence
Discussion is always good right?

Cunning is good if your monster can tank quite a lot.
Neither of Clawpards HP, DEF or MDEF is high, so I wouldn't suggest putting Cunning on it.

Thx!

Do you have any suggested monsters that can utilize punishment well?

Or should I just d/e punishment and buy AB?

For the Claw with curse, I use it where blizzard weather is always active and cannot be changed, so curse helps me out when I face other Ice mobs that will just dodge my AB attacks.

Use Polish on inverse Claw, I dare you ;)

Cunning works great, I use it for those silly PoD Bahas that cast night weather. My Claw will stay slower, so my cunning will go first which is then followed up by a mean AB+5 strike. Works great against Pegas too, but Claw will use AB on Pega before Cunning.
