What was the point of the server maintenance?

All I can see is that they changed the oel, which wasn't even due to change? Have i missed some major improvement?

I think they did something with the 4 different monster types in pvp as well, at least I thought I read something like that..

Yea, I recall reading something like that aswell .
Don't know what else they did, probably some Server cleaning, making them less laggy.
