Gryphion Ask

Hey.

I have a gryphion with a 3 skills already:

PoD, Eleectric Storm and S.Thunderstorm (mystery talent - water therapy 2).

Tho i wanted to ask what should i use as 4th skill

I have 2 electro abc in my bag :
Thunderstorm
Electrocute

If yoy could tell me your opinions which skill i should take, why yes and why not.

Depends on wether your Server has a lot of Earth monsters.
I'd replace Super Thunderstorm with Thunderstorm+5, and get another Thunderstorm or Wind Blast as 4th Skill.

Thunderstorm+5 has 5pp and 115 ATK, and with Gryphion PoDed and in Rain, it'll basically 1hit every non-Earth.
If your Server has a lot of Earth, I'd get Wind Blast, to swipe away any unwanted enemies (it has a 100% hit rate, and a PoD Gryphion is faster than any Earth besides Speed Boost Mino)!
If not, I'd get another Thunderstorm. Seeing how you have Water Therapy-II, it'll be able to survive for quite a while.

This is my Gryphion, as I'm not a big fan of AoE skills, I had the possibility to place both Wind Blast and Mind-Bending on it!
I've actually won quite a few matches against Scythes using Mind-Bending!

Well almost everyone except me and 2 other folks in top 15 have minos... Sometimes it is normal when i have to fight vs 3 minos in 1 battle..

Soo well i think i will have to get wind blast and mind bending :3

If you're planning to use it for Ladder, don't get Wind Blast.
It won't use it, it even casts PoD multiple times over using Wind Blast.

Wind Blast is great in PvP, it really seems to mess with peoples ideas !
However, for Ladder, I'd suggest:


Talent : Invalidate
Skills : Thunderstorm - Thunderstorm - Electrocute - Mind-Bending/Aurora Borealis

If I were you I would get sword dance and upgrade it to +5, and get a peg with taunt and rain. It should one shot everything with pod, sword, and rain.

1) Sword Dance can't be upgraded to +5
2) Pewgway Taunt is cheap and shows that you're weak, as you can't win by playing fair.

I dont like tht combo as well but i dont use fairness or call tht as dumb comb


Wht is playing fair?

Playing w a opponent with vertedeath pressure ( w soak foresight) is fair?

Playing w a opponent with more than 1 legendary Monster in their team is fair?

Playing w a opponent with POD and u don't have POD consider fair?

Playing w a opponent who use portion frequently is fair? Eg: scythe res marthydom w orange portion.. So I decided to play w portion as well but I didn't meet back the same opponent but hit others ... And I become or called by others I'm the liar who use portion.. ( as the 1st opponent is usually hit win and run away)

Playing w a opponent who have skill and talent and element can 1 OHKO u is fair?

So no fair games here ... As long as there is a monster w tht talent and u used it in the legal way and even in ur opinion he is weaker or a stupid dumb ass combo .... N he win it ...

I hate the damn Pegway taunt Vertedeath pressure combo w ( soak and foresight )
But I don't call it as unfair game..

I hate to use portion as unexpected fight
but I will accept it as thts only way to possibly win the battle at tht moment ...

I can't accept someone who with 3 legendary monster and i nearly win it w one legandary monster ... but eventually lose the battle because he is using portion ...

So just forget abt the fairness ... As long as the game have the talent or skills and others ppl using it ... and is consider acceptable despite how badly i hate it .... And do the best ...

I just don't agree the statement of fairness..

He means that facing a combo like that detracts from having fun. Its highly effective (I'd argue Taunt+Foresite+Soak Pewg is the best monster in game), requires little to no additional skill, and is just plain unfun to play against.

It is a matter of ethics or etiquette, when playing a game with other people you have to consider their enjoyment as well as your own. Imagine play-fighting with a 4 year old. At a very small expenditure of strength and energy you could pin them down and they would have no chance to fight back. That is not very fun for them and ruins the whole 'play' aspect of the endeavor.
