Question about power of darkness

Lets say opponent uses pod before I attack. When I attack do I attack based on def before he pod or after keeping in mind it's in the same turn as he pod

You'll do the damage you'd do before he used PoD.

It follows the same rules as 120 att moves during weather changes.

I've faced Gryphions in PvP that I 1hit with PoD being casted that turn.
1 match later, he changed his line-up, making me face an already PoDed Gryphion and I did approximately 70% damage.

I'm pretty sure PoD takes effect as soon as it's used. If your monster is slower than the monster using PoD, it will do less damage than usual when it attacks due to the def boost your opponents monster receives.

I agree with koenaj this also includes weathers / other decrease/increase / paralyze ( will not lower speed the same turn ) and burn ( will not decrease atk same turn )

Nah, My Rhor took a massive boulder from a PoD Brawny after PoDing, later that day i faced the same guy, but he had changed his lineup, and 1hko my rhor when i didnt have PoD up, neither was a crit.

no guys im sure when u cast pod ur stats change at that time. so if the gryphon cast a pod and then u throw a boulder on gryphon the boulder's damage will be decreased.

im really sure about this cause everyday i go pvp. pod its not the same as weather.
