Blessing required for S rank?

Not much of a problem, more of an annoyance.
I'm trying to breed my pewgways in preparations for Levi. But when I bred my two fully S rank pewgways, the resulting monster had three S stats and two A+ stats. The same happened to my cygness. I really should've learned my lesson but I just don't see why two S ranks would not have an S rank offspring. So basically, blessing is required to make a full S rank/grade monster. Anyone else experienced this?

Breeding 2 Pure S without blessing, thought not often, can give you a Pure S offspring

most of the time it's A+ but it's actually has S stats. does that make sense?
but yeah, if you like pure S for your monsters always bless even when breeding s grades.

there's a good chance of each stat going up, but sometimes also down when breeding normally, while blessing ensures they go up, or in the case of breeding 2x pure S, to stay the same. Yes, it is quite annoying and counter-intuitive that an offspring can be weaker than its parents when up to S, breeding 2 parents always gave a stronger offspring (averaged from parents). e.g. C+C gives a C+ offspring, not C-.
