Question on scythe talents

Armour II says that the monsters def increases while def boost which is coloured purple so is supposed to be better, says that the monster gets a def boost when switched into battle. Surely armour II is the better talent here, or am I missing something?

The color of the Talent doesn't refer to its quality. It is linked to its rarity when trying to get it. Sure they usually correspond with the better talent being rarer though.

From what I understand the Def increase is fairly similar but with Def Boost you can move the monster in and out of combat more than once to stack the boost where as Armor II is static.

def boost looks better to me but i would go for resurrect

The stat increase provided by both skills seem to be about the same, though some claim the DEF boost actually provides a bit better boost. Also, DEF boost may be used multiple times by simply switching in and out of the battle, as Ryeballs said.

If you are thinking of the best talent, Resurrect is by far the best. Players used countless runes to try and get this skill because it really is what sets Scythe apart (from most monsters) and it is extremely useful. One of the combo they use with this skill is Martyrdom+Resurrect.
