Verte help/opinion

I have 2 verte. Well 3 but the hypno dream thief is a joke

One has mf3 and pod

One has penetrate but no pod.

My issue is the mf3 one does not cast pod because it thinks it can one shot but really can't in most cases.

And I typically only use one verta is ladder.
So should I slap pod on the penetrate verte or should I try to change the mf3 ones talent to penetrate?

Do you think they will ever fix the AI?

I'm not swimming in pods. I probably get 1 a month so it's pretty rare to me.

Hehe! I told people it just doesn't work. :P

Anyway, I am SURE they will change the AI in ladder. They have changed it numerous times in the past and I'm sure they will keep tinkering with it until the fine balance is met.

It really depends on your competitors. In my server, it's more important to have a Penetrate monster as if you have PoD monsters, you will lose easily to even just one Invalidate Fenrir.

Who is your main competition? Is there a player that will attack you and will most likely win? If yes, then check his/her monsters. If he/she is using Invalidate, Penetrate is a must because your MF3 will not stand a chance if it decides to cast PoD now - and trust me, it will decide to cast it when you don't want it to.
In ladder, I also have an MF3 Vertedeath but I've been using it much less because Cunning is not good coupled with the MDEF decrease provided by this talent. With Fenrirs and other monsters having Mind-Bending, it might not be a good choice. Unless your MF3 PoD-ed monster starts casting PoD often soon, there's no point in using it if it can't take off 1 hit in defeating a monster, compared to Vertedeaths of different talents.

Good luck!

Re: Verte help/opinion

I don't have issues with invalidators. Have counters for those.

It's generally all hard hitting mobs that cast pod while mine doesn't that's giving me issues.

Like cgyness, smiter, scythe, fenrir.

Generally it will go like this:

They will cast pod, verte refuse to cast pod and cast cunning instead.
By the time the first cunning hits their pod will be up and will do little damage .

Second round they are poded up and hit me fore half my HP.
Cunning hits again but takes them down to about 10%

Round 3 I die.

In a nutshell if they have pod up and I don't it takes 3 cunnings to kill em. 4 if its res scythe.
But with pod up they can kill me in 2 rounds

Oh, well. It's a matter of how much damage your monsters can dish out at the moment.
Since PoD doesn't really seem to have any effects, you just have to check for yourself how your monsters play out.
It might seem obvious that MF3 should be chosen as it deals more damage but the MDEF decrease might allow your monster to be killed in only 2 hits, instead of 3 with other talents.
With MF3, it should only take 3 hits for resurrect scythe with MF3 AND Penetrate. If Penetrate takes 4 hits, then, MF3 seems to be the better choice.

If you have no problems with Invalidate, are there any talents that you want to use your Penetrate talent on? If not, then, MF3 seems to be the better option. Besides, you never know when it will be smart enough to use the PoD!
