Depression

Recently me and my old friend Cladun had a chat. He asked " Will you still be playing in 3-4 months" My answer was quite possible not. I realized in 4 months you look back, all your hard work for legendaries, is their a purpose? To spend this much time in a game you won't be playing in a few months. I realized 80% of my original friends list have quit. I asked my myself do you enjoy this game or are you just not willing to let go all the time you have spent on this game? I'm on the brink of quitting now and Clad it is not your fault but my own. Any words of advice is appreciated.

Re: Depression

I understand what you mean and I ask myself that all the time. There are apps being downloaded all the time. Apps that last a few days and some that last longer. For me this has not only been something to spend some time on but something I look forward to. My little escape. I downloaded this around February and loved it but like with very app I slowly started to drift away. In mid march I stopped playing altogether and took some time off to fiddle with other apps. A few days later I found myself back to playing haypi monsters, baffled as being away for a few days had put me behind. I started playing again daily. I realized that the people there are not just strangers but people I see and talk to everyday. Some have left and its sad to see them go. Later I found myself in the forum and found many skilled players. Many very insightful and intelligent people and it made me smile. Everyone on here trys to help one another. (Even if we don't know them at all) it's not just an app. It's not just a server we play on. Haypi monsters is a community and we have each other. People will come and they will go but the ones that stay and the new ones that arrive will soon come to learn this and love this game.

I hope you stay. Enjoy they ride. :) smile.

I agree.

For my part, I don't even talk on my server since most of the players there are Thai (and I can't understand a word of Thai). They do communicate in english sometimes and they are definitely friendly and helpful towards other players, but most of them are friends in real life to begin with and I don't share any common topics with them.

So where is my community? Right here on the forums, where I get to engage in lengthy discussions with other players and try to help with whatever limited knowledge of the game that I have. I also found another home on the HM English facebook group. Trust me, the people there are really helpful and I consider them to be friends, despite not having met them or having them on my server. Join us if you haven't already. :D

I know it sucks that most of the people on your original friends list have quit. Well I had zero friends in this game to begin with, I just made new ones!

Re: Depression

Hi LiMoney!

**I would like to commend josieboyy for those excellent advices.

I will tell you one thing: All of us have experienced this at some point since we started playing. We will all have these bad days. You might not feel that you won't be playing this in 4 months but you never know! I play a certain popular dragon collecting game in my iPhone and start way over a year ago and I haven't stopped playing since. Of course, I don't play for lengthy time but I always check it. We will always have these thoughts of quitting but you shouldn't dwell in these. For now, if you enjoy this game, keep playing it! If it takes your mind off a few problems, even if just small ones, in real life, play!

This game is an escape for a lot of people. This is a game that you can spend hours on and be happy. There are a lot of hobbies that people take up to take their minds of some things they have in real life. You need to see this game like this. This IS a hobby. I know people who play video games - XBOX, PlayStation, etc. and they spend numerous hours playing it and this is the same.
At the moment, you might feel like this is a 'duty' - that you have to play this game now and try and be the best. My advice is to not get stressed from these. Enjoy the game. Don't feel like you will be losing time if you keep playing this game. Do what makes you happy!

For now, you need to spend a healthy amount of time with this game if you really feel down from the events that happened. Just take a breather. Go outside and smell the leaves and flowers (just kidding!). But take your time. If you find something that you want to do more than play this game in your spare time you can quit. But for now, try and just enjoy the game.

I apologize if I went off with some of my points but I hope you get the idea.
Just have fun for now and don't think too much about what the future holds!
If you even want to talk with anyone, we'll be here in the forums. I'm sure you'll be able to talk with other players in your server chat as well.

Garouchi suggested the HM English Facebook page and it might be a good idea to collaborate with other players there.

Hope this helps and I hope you stay!

Re: Depression

Hm...I just realized you were already convinced. :P

Anyway, I am glad to hear that and if you EVER need help, I will be more than happy to provide it. I always check the forums but a private message won't hurt as well. You can even drop by in my server if you want to just chat! :)

Happy to hear that and good luck!

Re: Depression

I think haypi should make a server where all the active players go. U can transport ur main acct to that server and if u are inactive for like three weeks or a month u are booted from the server and more room opens up for new players. This would make the server competitive, and active. Something every server and game needs to stay alive. I believe this would keep people interested in the game and give them incentive to keep playing

You were probably typing this while I typed my second post:P
Your post is good enough to stop anyone from quitting though hahah
Thank you so much for your response and the time you have taken to help.

On a separate note tmiller, that is a splendid idea!
