Its most likely going to be +1 on a random stat. On one mob it might +1 on ATK, on another its going to be +1 on HP.
It's actually less than 1 due to rounding. The actual stat on one monster could be 174.4 and display as 174 while on another monster its 174.6 and displays as 175. So while it may look like a 1 point difference it could actually be 0.2 or anywhere from 0.2 to 0.9.
Also due to the randomization effect this isn't that big of a deal.
Lets say one of your scythes is 174.2 attk baseline while the other is 174.8.
In combat it's 174.2+/-10 and 174.8+/-10. So half the time scythe #1 could be hitting 184.2 while the 2nd scythe with higher attack could be hitting 164.8. Add that along with chances of dodges and crits into the equation.
Thus it is way more important what random number the computer rolls rather than <1 difference.
I use to spend a ton breeding the perfect flight. And it win's pretty much the same as the flight with 1 HP more. There is the rare chance that I would win with 1 hp left. But on the flip side you can argue what's better 1hp or 1 attk or 1 def. In each situation one might be better than the other, but dictated by the random effect above.
In a nut shell. It ain't something to worry too much about.
