Smiter vs. Pattafly: Stat Comparison

Level 40 S Grade Smiter have the following stats:
HP 150
ATK 117
MATK 117
SPD 101
DEF 93
MDEF 93

Level 40 S Grade Pattafly have the following stats:
HP 150
ATK 125
MATK 93
SPD 93
DEF 104
MDEF 105

Based on the stats, we can see that their HP is the same, and Pattafly has a higher ATK and Smiter has higher MATK. But the speed... It's definitely going to be shredded in this world of legendaries. Pattafly has higher DEF and MDEF, which may bear one more round than Smiter.

So the winner is...

Purely based on stats, in a head to head fight Smiter gets first hit which means Smiter wins. Against other mobs, the difference in stats might not make too much of a difference.

Not technically, sure smiter goes first but it's weaker and has less def so, first of both use pod, then smiter ATks won't get more then a third of the hp then pattafly uses it and does half damage, the smiter goes and it brings it down to 2/3 hp and then pattafly finishes off smitter

It could be the case that both only need 2 hits to finish each other off, or both need 3 hits to finish each other off.

Looking at the stats, it seems lv 60 pattafly cannot outspeed a smiter even with boots, allowing smiter to equip claws freely for extra damage (coupled with force II or Overgrow III to hopefully kill in 2 hits).

In other cases sure pattafly fares better against vertebrex/felicity/raid boss/suiciding scythe than smiter.

Seems like both Smiter and Pattafly are both mediocre epics. And Plant's awesome high PP 90 and 55 power moves arent looking so shiny either with the new PP system.

All the awesome supplementary skills in the world cant make Plant monsters good in the world of 1-3 hit kills in Ladder and PvP either.

But then branchy comes in and beats both of them the end. Best story ever

I don't get why some people are bashing on the grass epics and others are tossing them aside. I just had a pvp 1:1 battle with my S Pattafly, no PoD, against another guy with S Smiter, with PoD. It wasn't that close. I used leaf shield on my Pattafly and I sponged everything he had to throw at me. I started at like 220 health, by the time I knocked out his Smiter, 3 turns later, I had lost only 100 hp. No critical hits, just one defence boost from leaf shield.

Pattafly is definitely better. If it had more speed, it'd be much better than most epics IMO. Right now, I think that it's one of the better epics. Faster than flight, hits harder than flight, get STAB poison leaves - the second most debilitating 90 power move IMO. Pattafly is more than alright, it's great!
