There are actually some battles where i take off my horse and manual to lower my speed purposely for situational archer reasons. Max speed is definitely not needed as he says
To compliment what he's saying: When you attack someone with max speed and you have max speed, the defender goes first anyways if you're attacking the same unit you are using to attack. Works the same if the units are tied in speed at any speed. Though this was changed a bit by enhancements, but if you know which troop types to use against which ones, the speed difference isn't that big of a deal. I rarely use same units to kill same units, very rarely. You could have extremely low speed and still own someone, you just have to deal with the slower map time. LIke when i own someone in pvp as a lv 1 XD... it was like a continuous gift when people tried to farm me and i got a lot more prestige for building and training lol.
I'm working on a new strategy, not necessarily to implement myself, but to add to my collection of strategies. Has to do with low-ish speed. I'm not talking about the speed at which cats can have to destroy lv 10 turrets with no losses. I'm being vague here because it's another something I won't post on the forums myself if it works out.
