Arch, there are a few cav guides for taking forts on the forums, but ya gotta search through comments to find em.

IMHO, its far more efficient to raid forts using cats as they wont suffer casualties, like cav most definitely will.

Of course theres the argument that the cav superior speed will allow them to attack more forts per hour than a cat army can, thus allowing them to plunder more resources per hour than cats, but I feel this is a double edged sword.....

For every extra fort you farm per hour with your cav, you will be losing that many more cav per hour by doing so, thus wasting precious time by having to rebuild those cav!!!!

I actually have never tried farming forts with cav, so I suppose if you had an absolutely humongous cav army you could theoretically farm forts efficiently, but whats the point of that? youd be needing to farm forts solely to feed your army at that point, and you might as well just keep a couple thousand cats on hand to do that.

Uranos what are you talking about???
Under what conditions would I lose 100 cav? If I attacked a lv10 fort with 1000 cav that would be the outcome? I dont understand.....why is your info always so vague?

Ok, this is true when you use around 130k cavs, with max speed and max defense, if the level 10 fort does not have any turrets and traps you will lose less than 150 against them. They attack fast and you don't gotta command them in battle means they're the perfect answer to the lazy generals.

But that being said, this is a ridiculous sized army anyhow, alot more work required to maintain this army than if you just kept a cats army.

I personally don't like cavs army as much as you better watch your crops carefully when you got that army on a farming run, due to the fact that you don't need to command them and with cavs you can hit a much larger range of forts people tend to get careless. A negative crop of -450k is no joke and if you starve them be prepared for an extremely extremely painful rebuild process due to lack of cats. Not to mention with a cavs army at high level you're gonna suffer some pretty hefty prestige penalty when attacking a lower level player.

All in all, advantages and disadvantages, it's up to the player to decide for themselves.

Atm I'm stuck in this diemma. Im 2nd on my server ( S33 im at 3rd marquis ) and I decided to go for a change from the standard catapult army. I still make enough cats to farm decent forts but im not finding any use for my 10k cavalry. How many cats approximately ( considering I have 145 speed a max marching and shooting and defence etc. and I they only have cats ) Could my cav army take out in battle with less than 500 losses?
Thx

I did a test battle: 1000/0/0/0 vs 0/0/0/100

inf had 130 speed, but they won (6/0/0/0 vs 0/0/0/0)
