meat-shielding
this is a tactic used in order to slow down cavalry armies slow down inf and can be used in many other ways. it is mainly used with ranged armies containing archers or catapults
im going to take forts as an example in order for me to explain my points
so heres some useful info
-the troops in forts auto forward towards your troops.
-usually when farming forts with cats you pause all then target cavs, arch cavs then inf in that order
-meat shielding should allow you to take these forts with alot less catapults than recommended
-forts have a speed of 0,
so heres the method against lvl 1 forts
so what you need is around 180 cats, 1 cavalry, 1 archer and 2500 inf
the inf are there in order to farm resources. if you are merely wishing to clear troops to make farming easier the next attack you can use 1 cav, arch andd inf and use less catapults
so the first few rounds you do as standard taking out the cavalry, archer (and catapults for higher lvl forts). then around the 7/8th round (depending on field length).
this is the basic start.
now i want to look at how rounds work so you can understand it better a round happens in this order-
1.fastest player moves
2. slower player moves
3.fastest player attacks
4.slower player retaliates
5. slowest player attack
6. fastest player retaliates
ok so if you now move your cavalry forward then your cavalry should meet the approaching inf meaning that they are unable to move forward. this means you can get an extra hit in. then the next round yoou do the same with the archer. because archers have a slower base rating than inf it is advisable to have slightly better speed than 25 (around 50 i recomend with tech added in)
this has now slowed the inf down two more rounds. if you are using a inf as well as a shield then you can also send that forward to block.
this means you can get 2/3 extra hits on the forts inf meaning you should be able to farm that fort
