Re: Formula for movement in battle

Are there any guides for defending against cav armies?

Erraven's famous guide has some advice about that, it's here:

One thing i've seen with meatshielders is that they throw their inf and archer forward at cav at the same time, which lets the cav take them both out in the same round (because the archers will run into the cav at the same time as the inf, letting the cav attack/ counterattack them). One of the things about knowing at what point troops will meet is it makes it easier to decide when to pause troops and when to move them forward.

Another way to defend against cav that i've noticed, but I don't know if anyone will agree, is to use a cav army of an equal size. In front of turrets, when two cav armies are of roughly equal size then the defender has the advantage regardless of speed. Actually i think that's true even without turrets, because of how attack/ counterattack plays out with cav, that have a much higher defence than attack...

So if you keep getting farmed by a cav army belonging to someone 4 levels higher than you, the easiest way to deal with it is to quietly build your own cav army and wait...
