I now 100% call this guide my Savior. I was about to loose all my troops in this epic battle I was having and I checked this really fast and remembered to move my troops back. I know it seems simple but I got 10,000 prestige. And that's A LOT for a wimpy lvl 7. Thanks BroBot I LOVE you.
Re: All Guides in ONE
I though that this guide showed a strong comitment to sucessfully playing this. Good work.

Of course we all know that if a unit retreats before getting hit, you likely won't hit them. Like a cat retreating from a cav. Even though the cav may have way more than enough speed and range to hit a cat, they CANNOT hit a retreating cat. Archers have difficulty hitting retreating cats too.
Order of the battle goes:
1. Fastest troops move, then slowest troops until all troops have moved.
2. Fastest troop attacks
3. Defending troop from #2 counterattacks if their range allows.
4. 2nd Fastest troop attacks
5. Defending troop from #4 counterattacks if their range allows.
6. And so on until all troops have attacked and counterattacked.
A key thing to notice is that for #1, say that I have 1 archer and 100 catapults that are as close to my side of the battle as they can be. Also, say that I'm attacking you and you have 50 cavalry. The cavalry are 1 cm away from my catapults and can hit them if the cavalry moves forward. The order of battle dictates that the cavalry will hit the catapults first, but if I send my 1 archer forward it will stop the cavalry. No matter what happens, the archer will advance just a little, negating the cavalry's ability to move forward and hit the catapults. This is same with archers and infantry; even though they are slower than cavalry and by order of battle should be useless, they still advance just a little in this kind of scenario.
Also, since the troops attack after all the troops have moved, this is why cavalry can't hit retreating catapults (the catapults retreat just far enough to be out of the range of the cavalry)
I think.

Edit:

Also, since the troops move, then attack, the person with higher speed will always attack first. Unless they don't have the range.

Infs also cannot hit cats going backwards. This is mainly based on the range of the Infs as well as usually Infs will always move before cats
