World Chat Spam?

Since there was a large discussion previously and currently about spamming in World Chat, I thought it would be beneficial to have a poll of who thought what.





Some examples of the questionable advertisements.

Simply this poll is for S8, to have people's input on what they thought this was: Spam or Ads?

The posts are made of emoji to depict some kind of picture representing their alliance, which takes up at least a page of WC. For those who can't see or still don't understand the issue.

EDIT: Anyone have any ideas for a line limit on ads? If that might pose a better solution. That way our experts have something to go off of.

I feel it disrupts world chat by making it harder to follow the flow of a conversation. With large posts like that, I'm constantly fighting to scroll up to get back to what I was reading.
Also, they rarely say anything helpful about the advertised alliance. It's just pointless in those cases.

I actually find it is more of a form of artistic expression and so long as they follow 5 minute alliance ad intervals they are really quite eyecatching.

However does artistic expression need to be expressed in WC?

If they say the ad every 5 mins it is not spam, but there might be a limit on how long ads can be such as a 5 line ad requirment

but right now those are not considerd spam if they follow the 5 min rule, but ads in general usally get no one to join there alliance and usally will get blocked by all the ppl that get annoyed by it

I have no issue with Emoji Ads, HOWEVER they must contain a SUBSTANTIALamount of text stating your alliance's information, simply putting join _____ in the message and the rest emoji is not acceptable. It is disruptive to others and I agree with Moonlight!'s post about scrolling,. The second picture is borderline for me as it does contain minimal information regarding the alliance it is meant to advertise. In the case of the second picture I would have no issue with it so long as it were not posted any more than once every 5 minutes at minimum, but I would like to see it contain more ad and less emoji.

I love emojis, people. But c'mon, that's downright ridiculous. Lets keep things to a minimum. I agree with fey that over a page of emojis is disruptive, but I stand that a few lines is okay and funny. 

I think that should be something admin discusses. It definately should have a limit though. Ads are cool but they shouldn't interfere with our gaming.

Yeah but that's the problem. Different people advertise for the same alliance. It becomes a major hassle.

As for your edit, is there a way we could possibly have a mod determine rules for our experts?
