offline mode

I know this is a mmorpg, but after my internet kept crashing on me a few times, not being able to play really got annoying, especially since I knew I had a month long trip soon without access to the net. (yeah, Im gonna miss this game, can feel withdrawal symptoms already creeping up on me) Anyhow, the my horrible internet connection, for which AT&T may be blamed, and the random interruptions of gameplay, know as server updates, made me ask why wasn't there an offline mode, where we could play if these things happened. of course pvp, and bosses won't be available in offline play, but we could save a few favorite lvls, with their rewards and exp gain per star charts and calculators, along with a few lvls which we haven't beaten yet, player account, and exp per dragon and player lvl charts as part of the app, and when the internet crashes :o, we'll be able to spend that time as productive little haypi players and grind the to the next level or beat the level we haven't manage to do yet :D. now if you're asking what will happen when online play resumes right? well, that's when your device sends a report of what you did during offline mode, and your work is saved into the server. This way we won't have to spend time without access to do anything on haypi dragon and server updates feel more like a time to lvl.

Re: offline mode

Im not sure but i assume if they did that it would make it extremely vulnerable to hacking. But if it could be done safely i would love it! I have an iphone but no service so i only use wifi. Would be awsome to play HD anywhere anytime.

Re: offline mode

I dont think even jailbreaking will help you.

Hackers never win in the long run. Hackers get banned. End of story. Its always how the story ends.

Anyway, I think the problem with an offline mode is the ranking systems are not only server based and live, but global, as it connects to the game center.

Its impossible at this point to gain only dragon xp. Every level gains player xp, which affects your server and global rank.

In its current condition and status as a game, I don't see it as possible. But in future updates, I think it would be a great and wonderful idea if implemented properly.

Re: offline mode

If offline mode then hacking will be extremely easy as once jailbroken all you will need to do is chance a few lines of code and then you could give yourself unlimited amounts of exp from just doing one level. Trust me within few days the game will be full of hackers. So that's why HD won't have offline mode

Re: offline mode

plus, if a hacker is banned, they can easily fake their UDID then come to HD untraceable..

and redo all of it just to get banned again. Point in that? You can easily trace how they got the exp by implementing a tally count in how many times they play a level, and compare it to the amount of exp gained in the game. (suck on it, you hackers  ) sides, there only a certain amount of games you can play in a certain time range, giving yourself a jump for lvl 1-40 in 3 days worth of time is really gonna be damn hard. plus add in a offline timer to count how many hours they play, then hell, better to code a HD bot then to freaking hack offline mode. Though campos has a good point, when offline, ranking isn't quite in the accessible list anyhow, so ranking is not really an important subject when dealing with an offline mode. Besides, if anyone does monitor the list for a while, they will find that ranking actually updates every 10-30 mins rather than constantly, so think of offline mode as more or less extending that to like a few hour or a couple days, pending on how long you're offline. Thanks for reading, and sorry for the rant. On extremely good tea right now, think it even beats coffee in waking me up.
