Animal abuse

My science teacher is fine with crayfish being poisoned, cutting live worms in half, frogs eyes being taken out, etc. Is any of this animal abuse?

Re: Animal abuse

Depends on ur deffination but I would say no. I think ppl make way to big about animal harrasment/abuse.
My true story
I was picking apples off tge ground to make cider with. I was throwing bad apples over a fence to my sheep. When a lady who works at a small buisness comes over n starts yelling at me for throwing rocks at sheep. She told me that she had called animal pertection and tgey would b there shortly! I was like they r not rocks n I'm not throwing them at the sheep(my sheep like to eat apples). She didn't listen n stormed off. Tge cops came but nothing came of it(no fines or anything). So anyway this lady had her facts wrong n she was on private property n stuff! Anyway so I think she took it way to far!

Re: Animal abuse

I think causing harm, injury or pain to any living animal is cruel.

Many disagree, though.

Re: Animal abuse

I think if its something we wouldn't want to happen to ourselves, isn't animal abuse. Btw, she thinks animals don't hav feelings.

Re: Animal abuse

Just because it's publicly accepted in order to further scientific research for the better of mankind doesn't take away the fact that it's abuse.

As a people, we abuse animals for our own gain. That IS a fact.

Re: Animal abuse

We do not abuse animals, we use animals in which God gave us. Beef and milk comes from cows, hence using them for what they are here for. (just for a example)

Re: Animal abuse

God is debatable, abuse is not.

I'm utterly baffled at the notion that you believe killing and/or harming living things against their will is NOT abuse. Seriously.

I'm not saying lets all grow vegetables and die of diseases we could otherwise cure, but I'm saying that we need to wake up and accept the fact that we voluntarily abuse other living creatures for our own benefit.

I honestly can't see how that point is even remotely debatable.

And as a side note, just because meat from cows and their milk sustain us, it doesn't mean that's what they are here for.
Heck, humans feed sharks but is that our purpose here? I doubt it.
We don't have the right to presume why any being is 'here' or what their purpose is.
Doing so (and no offence meant) is completely - for lack of a better word - stuck up.
