Upgrading your fence

The purpose of upgrading your fence is to a) make it look better. Which no doubt it does, but it also says that it is supposed to keep shark attack lower. As far as I know that never happens. Was it ever supposed to and just taken out? Or will it happen  I hope not now, I love the zen quality of HF

A shark attack has never happened to me, but Link said it once occurred in his home, and it took all his money. So I would presume that it is simply a rare random event, and that a higher level fence does in fact decrease chances of it happening and its negative effects if it does happen, but it is so uncommon that these lowered risks don't appear to make any clear difference.

I've been attacked about 4 times by a shark. Last one just about two weeks ago.

I've been attacked several times! It lowers the level quality of my fence. The darned thing is so expensive to upgrade that it took me a long time to get it back. And that was my main goal to save up for. Shark damage really is pretty nasty.
