How to encourage more war and less hiding

I'm sure this was mentioned before, but I think rather than the winner of a battle gaining prestige, both sides should gain prestige based on the number of troops they kill. I know it's always fun hitting someone you don't like and taking their prestige away, however it causes more inactivity than anything else.

For instance, when a player is attacked they can look at the invading army and instantly determine the outcome of the battle based on numbers alone. If you know you can't beat their army, you will hunt, which in turn avoids a battle altogether. Considering this is a war game, that seems a bit counter productive. Also, in pvp, most players quit once their army is wiped along with their pp making it extremely boring after the first few days.

What I suggest is the winner gets a +25% boost in their pp while the loser gains at normal rate. The reason I suggest this is because HK turns into a complete ghost town at times simply because no one wants to lose their hard earned pp. I think players would attack and defend more freely if a system like the one I suggested was implemented.

I like the idea of both sides getting prestige... This would stop a lot of the people quiting.

I hate this...

Where's the competition? It's like a kindergarten class where 'everybody's a winner'. When you go to the kindergarten soccer game and they don't keep track of the score and give everybody medals.
If the person rage quits cause they lost a small amount of pp they weren't meant for war anyway.

muku you havent got the purpose. you kill troops you win. if the defender isnt cut out for war he wont kill anything and will get 0 pp and lose 0 pp. if he kills half the pother persons army the other person still gets full pp though as a prowess of his commanding skills he is rewarded with pp that he kills. think of the 300 spartans. even though they lost in the end they are given far more respect than the persians. it rewards for battle where the outcome is highly likely that you will lose but you are fighting anyway against hopeless odds.
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?

good idea, but would take some testing to get right and since haypi have so much to do i think easier to apply suggestions would take priority

Nathan I understood the idea fine...doesn't make me like it. There's no way for direct competition. People will feed constantly cause they don't lose pp. When you're 3rd gunning for 2nd you can't stalk them to steal their pp and make your jump twice as effective. There's so many issues with this suggestion in my opinion.

Re: How to encourage more war and less hiding

For one, players already do feed so that argument doesn't stand.

Second, there is no incentive for a player to attack or defend against a larger army.

Third, it's not very fun fighting an un-manned army. There is no challenge wiping an army that was left out or starved. It may be good for pp, but it's no different than fighting fort/oasis troops.

Re: How to encourage more war and less hiding

Set up some set battles with set pp if you want to have real fights with real commanding.

Top players build their maximum amount of troops every day. Those players also have armies that are essentially maxed out. They suicide their troops every couple days to keep crop consumption manageable. If they don't lose pp they will find another top player and trade their spare troops back and forth forever gaining pp from feeding.

I like that you're trying to find a way to encourage war...this isn't it.

Personally I think an actual alliance mediated, but haypi controlled war system would be better. Let's be honest most of us expected this when Haypi announced "alliance wars" was coming. Two alliances actually declare war in haypi with some specific method. You choose a war type such as first alliance to gain X pp, X amount of time, some combination, etc. Then the pp gain/loss between the alliances are actually posted for both alliances to see. Then people will fight for their alliances. Starve. Etc. to win.
