I haven't been reading only skimming.
And yours had nothing to do it was seemingly out of spite.

Ha ha shade, by skimming you missed a lot. I had a very hard time controlling my tongue with goldenrico earlier in earlier posts. He was doing really well at getting my goat, but I know this is not the place to abuse other players.

Re: "city-dropping"

Wick!! I LOVE your idea!! The ability to speed up the no-attack blackout window with coin would indeed make more money for haypi... And if there was a limit, say the minimum black out was 30 seconds and it cost more coin for each step down from the original 5 minutes, then city-dropping would still suit the big time spenders but make it more costly to do so. I am not sure how many droppers would spend the dough to speed it up. When I play this scenario out in my mind, it runs like this: a player has scouted another player for sometime now, and knows when he's online. He watches troop movements and waits till hunting is accomplished or the target returns from farming. He drops his city right next to his target and now has to wait 5 minutes to engage. He's only 30 seconds away because his speed stat/tech are high and he wants the prestige that's sitting there but he doesn't want to wait. The odds are still his favor... It's highly unlikely that the target has noticed him there yet. So he spends the coin to cut down the window to its minimum and attacks.
It looks to me like the attacker still gets a swift attack if his victim is unaware after the window has expired (because of his close proximity and high speed stat/tech) but because the window exists, so also does a small chance that the target will see the city next to him and send out his troops to hunt. I do like the idea of being able to shorten the attack black-out time at a considerably higher cost to the attacker, because in reducing the risk to the average player from city-dropping, it actually raises the potential revenue for haypi as well.
I'd like your thoughts on that, Rico. If this limit was instituted, would you spend additional coin to speed up the attack window every time, or would you wait the full amount depending on the situation? Would the window discourage you at all from dropping as often, or would you pay the extra coin to get that zero-wait attack advantage?

Re: "city-dropping"

i guess rico will wait if he knows that player is sleeping. he will attack all the oasis and forts of that player before launching the attack. this is if he does his homework. otherwise for those player with short window for attack, he will most probably speed it up.

Re: "city-dropping"

I just wanted to weigh in on the city dropping discussion.... although I don't have the deep pockets as other players do the simple fact of knowing that people do city drop just means you have to ensure you hunt you're troops. Its important to remember that this is a game and a business for haypi and the coins are the only source of income for the support we get from staff. Let these deep pockets fund the game and just protect yourself against becoming a target. We've all been victims of a city drop before but those of us that actually earned our stripes instead of paying for them are better players for it.

Re: "city-dropping"

Well this is a controversial one. I don't agree with the blackout or speed-ups merely because it costs enough coins to drop on people as it is and its pretty hard to get prestige any other ways (unless you're feeding yourself which is a lame tactic). Sure it costs coins, sure its unfair to some but its not like there's no counter measure (hunting, which should be a common habit for everyone) and if you can't defend yourself, again go hunting and don't leave troops out. And dropping for huge hits or a good fight is prolly the only fun in Haypi apart from chatting with everyone for me. Don't make it cost more :(

Re: "city-dropping"

Ima have to agree, there is hardly any players left cause so many quit. Even it up. What good is being on top if there is nothing to be on top of?
Akdragon, very well put. You make some great points. I cant figure out why i still put money in this game. As far as Golden showers is concerned he gets his coins for free. Dont let him act like he is something hes not.

Re: "city-dropping"

if someone city drops me. that is the end of their troops and or city.locks from 3 cities. then continuily attacks from my alliance. (NOBODY STAYS UP 24 HOURS) to continually beat the 1 cat or infantry. i then place a spy in their alliance. find out when said person is offline. then do my 5 attacks>.>
