being able to set a default would certainly be helpful. Sometimes stuff happens and you either forget or can't make it to the battle. Having a default other than going on a deathmarch would have saved me tons of units!

I agree, I am suggesting it should only effect troops in your cities. This is not about forgetting attacks, I have done what you described, and i am not trying to blame the system. I just feel that You should be able to controll how troops in your cities react when you are not there to watch them because i cannot stare at my ipod 24/7. It also makes sense that one's troops would have standing orders in their general's absence.

i Agree with the argument that their should be a standing order when you are not there to command. It is true that life events do happen and you cant always be there to stop your troops from thier default "death march" when you ordered an attack on like a fort or oasis.

I've had that happen several times before where i've issued an attack, only to get a phone call or have something else come up that prevents me from being there to command a battle i normally would have won. You can't predict life events and it feels like the game punishes you for not being there when situations like that happens.

Simply adding that feature to change the default march to wait would be most useful. I'd rather have a battle result in a draw cause i wasn't there rather then loose everything and take all that time to rebuild.

What if both armies have a wait command in place for all units? Just assuming the other player has lower level speed and shooting(another problem with the overpowered "cat strat"). Both armies sit and wait until someone logs in and commands? Could take a while... The AI works fine outside of the "cat strat".

If both armies have wait commands, i guess it should end in a draw.
Like write the rule saying that says "if no side advances during a period of 5 turns, the battle is desided as a draw".

This is mostly for things like forts and oasises is where this feature would be more useful.

i like the idea to have this so called standing order when u r not around. it will be silly for a army to march out against a bigger force when he have turrets and traps in place. defending players should have more advantage. i prefer the default to be wait as it will solve many problem such as offline, connection problem and such

Agree Agree Agree although having connection issues does allow a player to keep playing Haypi since they have to rebuild lol

Perhaps default when you are being attacked could be for everyone to wait, but when you attack default would be to advance(as it is now).

I would rather see a preferences menu where you could set your own default actions and targets for each troop for attack and defence, but I realize this would be a rather huge change and probably not likely.

Also in answer to the "what if both sides wait?" question, a battle lasts a maximum of 20 rounds, so it would just end in a draw.

Here Here! Yeah - so could we make this happen tomorrow? Thanks developers. This must be in the new version (whenever that happens) of the game or I will be greatly disappointed.

By the way, how come 75% of the posts in the "Suggestion Compilation" no longer exist. That must mean that those posts have already been implemented in the version........ right? heh

I don't think tatics should be added in. Part of the game is hunting your troops and keeping track of your battles. If tatics were added it would be very hard to gain pres especially at high lvls. First strike makes it almost impossible to gain pres from armies while the other player is on. If the army could auto command while you are away it's useless to attack another high lvl player. You would simple wipe part of your army and gain 0 pres.

If this skill were to be added in I like the idea of doing it as a tech.
