Even when I sign up for it, it still asks me about a week or so later.

What's the reason for this? Does it just require you to re-log into your FB?

but why is it such a problem to let it post to your wall, the only thing it posts is an update every time you level up, what is so bad about that?

You can turn it off. When it comes up, switch the thing that says on to off.
