I also think a time limit and deposit would drive prices down. Just think, if a person has max wood in his warehouse he'll want to make sure he will sell it, otherwise, not only will he lose his deposit, but he will also lose whatever resources can not fit back into the warehouse. His solution? Undercut to make sure it sells. The only possible solution I see to this is to have the resources automatically sold to npc at a drastically reduced price after the time period expires.

How about the brutally honest approach?

Listen. This is a war game. If you stop restricting the LITTLE sqaubbles in chat then people will be fighting more. More fights means more demands for troops. More demand for troops means more demands for reasources. Higher demands means higher prices.

This is how a real economy works. When you over think it by doing what you plan you may fix it in the short term but you are setting it up for another fail along the line

mind you I'm not talking about swearing it obsenities. But we all seem to not want to recognize the fact that this is a WAR GAME.

So let people fight and NATURALLY drive demand and prices north

Become can fight as they wish, go to war as they wish and argue as they wish so long as they don't start breaking rules by cursing or what have you. People just try to break it up because they don't care to hear or see it.

Regardless of how much attacking is done I can get over a million of each resource in about 30 minutes.

Thought of 2 simple things you could try.

1st-Flip the list order from high cost to low. -currently people do the lowest to be on the first page. (yes people will still scroll to last page, but if you make it inconvenient it would slow the low bidding down -like make it take 5 secs to go to next page)

2nd-When you are submitting the resources to be sold it seems to always suggest the lowest cost. Use a mode or median approach for that suggested price.

These could be some minor tweaks to the current system without a major overhaul.

-And I agree, this shouldn't be a bank, so force a realistic high price. i.e. on wood it should never go over .35 (which may still be high)

In my opinion, terrible. Yes this will make prices go up but if you sell you will sell high, making it unobtainable to most players. Then we have a problome of prices that are waay too high. The problome isnt people who post high prices and quit, its the undercutting wich can easily be eliminated if we just had a ncp price for recources too.Then, just like our treaure prices, it will stay up as long as people are smart. I agree we need it so people dont post and quit but that can be solved by deleting inactives, once there gone they cant sell.
