Price floors

Many people bring up the dilemma of rapid deflation, simple solution create a price floor, yes it will be difficult to quickly sell your resources when you desperately need cash but perhaps there could be a sell to npc which is a price significantly below the price floor to allow people to clear resources quickly if the market is stagnant.

Sorry if this has been suggested before i didnt want to scroll through many many pages.

Re: Price floors

Things of this nature have been mentioned before, in fact I alluded to a price floor in the thread that you commented on before making this new one  im not sure that its needed tho. . .it will give you more money from the sale of resources but just drain your money quicker when buying. . .no matter what the price is, it affects all people equally so i think its fair anyway.

Re: Price floors

Yeah that makes sense but if you think about it treasures have a price floor, ie npc price so introduction of a price floor to resources will help level the value of treasures in resources

Re: Price floors

resources have price floors and ceilings. . .they just change as the market fluctuates. . .and usually settle at the lowest as time goes by. . .im starting to become more on the side of keeping it as is. . .treasures may be easier to make money on, but they are a lot harder to get. . .so i think its fair that only they can be sold at npc

Re: Price floors

My opinion it like in server 3 stone is 1 cent and you can buy wood and iron routinely at 1-2 cents why not make a medium and make a floor at 3-5 cents for resources this will make those that are new in the game at least have a chance to make some money and they will be more inclined to play more instead of saying this is impossible and leaving level 0-1-2 citys everywhere!:)

Re: Price floors

There is a floor price for resources right now- 1 cent. Prices would drop lower if increments under a penny are possible.

Re: Price floors

I think it is better to fluctuate the different production rates over time just like the real economy. There is a lot of overproduction, so the prices are low. Unless the production is limited, these prices will stay low. It would even be better if the production rates are geographically different. Depending where you are on the map there could be plenty of stone but harldy any wood. Wait a couple of weeks and the situation could be completely different. This would lead into an active flow of resources and more stable prices.

I had mentioned this awhile back- the devs could make things really interesting by creating scarcity- IE by forcing oasis to level 0 until certain target prices are met. Prices could also be raised by having troops also take up stone iron and wood resources as well as crop resources. There are lots of little tweaks like this that could be implemented that would make the game much more interesting.

Its not clear if any significant gameplay changes are ever going to be implemented though. There was some talk about a new game called "Haypi Adventure" being in the works, the devs may be working on that.

Re: Price floors

This is a bad idea. Its very rare to be the top dog and if people start needing resources, well you can enjoy having backstabbing neighbors but i don't really want to look forward to losing my oasis everytime i log off.

Also this would cause you to leave your troops to fend your oasis. taking away your hunt
